Do you know that you are going to heaven? 

You can know. "These things I have written to you ... that you may know that you have eternal life.” I John 5:13. 

 

Here is how you can know.

1.  Heaven is a free gift.  The Bible says, ". . . the GIFT of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.”  Romans 6:23.  Good works, or religious deeds can not earn a place in heaven for you.  "By grace are ye saved through faith, and that NOT OF YOURSELVES, it is the gift of God, NOT OF WORKS, lest any man should boast.” Ephesians 2:8.9.

2.  Man is a sinner & cannot earn his way to heaven  because  "...all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;”  Romans 3:23.  Sin is transgressing God's law. 

3. God is just and must punish sin.  He says "I will by no means clear the guilty.”  Exodus 34:7.  “The soul that sinneth, it shall die.”  Ezekiel 18:4. We have a sin problem & the penalty for sin is eternal death (hell). 

4.  God loved us and solved this problem for us in the PERSON of HIS SON JESUS CHRIST.  John 3:16 says "For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.”  He died on the cross to pay the penalty for our sins and rose from the grave to purchase a place for us in heaven.  “The Lord has laid on Him (Jesus) the iniquity of us all.”  Isaiah 53:6.  God hates our sins but because of His love for us, He has placed them all on His Son on the cross.

5.  Now Jesus offers you eternal life through his free gift. This gift is received by Faith.  SAVING FAITH is trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation.  "And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house..." Acts 16:31.

You can receive His gift now.  Romans 10:9-10 says "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. {10} For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation."  Call on Him, ask Him for this gift right now.  "For whoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.” Romans 10:13.
